Single Serve Coffee Maker
Convenient and Fast Great Tasting Coffee
I've just spent a week using the "Warm Blends" Single Serve Coffee maker in the Sheraton Hotel in downtown New Orleans and am fairly impressed.
I cannot find much info on this coffee maker online, but it does say Warm Blends™ on the front, is apparently made for Starwood Hotels and Resorts (Sheraton is part of Starwoods) in China, and is model TSK-1293CB. After spending a week using this machine for my morning brew, here are my comments.
It is a pod style coffee maker, maybe 10 inches tall, and made of brushed metal, maybe aluminum, and black plastic of some type. Aesthetics don't matter as much as taste of course, but it's fairly good looking.
I've made two types on coffee in it. The first is a Starbucks brand coffee (the Sheraton serves Starbucks as well) in individually packaged pods, Africa Kitamu®, which they describe on the package as "Floral, Subtle Spice" and flavor intensity is described as bold. It's pretty good but I'd emphasize the flavor intensity which essentially overwhelms any subtleties and it would probably be more to my taste with a less dark roast. I'm also using a Columbian I ground right before I flew here and am very familiar with which allows a much better analysis of the machine as I know this coffee well!
Basically, this machine makes an excellent cup of coffee! I'm psyched to have it in my room. Easy to use, easy to clean and reload, and just a joy to have. I'm not sure if all Starwood properties or even Sheratons have this type of coffee maker, but if they do it's a big plus! Hotel is decent too, although a bit older and worn and charging $10 to use the health club is a bit of an annoyance for sure!
Looking it up online, it's clear that many (maybe all) Sheratons feature the "Warm Blends" which is described as a coffee and tea maker, although I've not made tea. I did also use it one night for hot water to make soup from a powder mix and that worked well also.
