Black and Decker Brew 'N Go

The Black & Decker Brew 'N Go is a small, inexpensive, single cup coffee maker. It's extremely popular, and it makes wonderful coffee on first review, as I'm about 1/3 of the way through the first cup of coffee from mine.

Unlike most single serve coffee makers, it doesn't use any special pods or k cups, just ordinary ground coffee you place into the reusable & permanent metal filter. It brews directly into an included 15 ounce travel mug with a brew through and drink through lid. In case you really do brew 'n go, something I often do, it has an auto shut off feature. Looking over at my machine, yup, it works: it's turned itself off.

It's pretty compact which is perfect for my office, measuring 10.3 x 7 x 6.1 inches and weighing 1.6 pounds. It's 800 watts, and my only comment on this is that the coffee is plenty hot. There are both 120 volt and 220 volt models available as it's sold in a number of countries.

The manual says "Your coffeemaker can also be used to brew hot water for other hot beverages such as tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal and soups." This sounds great, and I will no doubt be using this for hot chocolate the few times the kids visit the office and for instant soup (Note: I used it for instant soup - works as advertised).

The Black & Decker Brew 'n Go Personal Coffeemaker with Travel Mug is a winner, especially at it's price, currently under $20. I spend more than that on cups of coffee at my favorite coffee shop some weeks!

So, what's my favorite things about the Black & Decker Brew 'N Go?

This is highly recommended. It's not as carefree as a pod machine, for example you need to clean the filter (no big deal), but it is more flexible and very inexpensive with excellent results.
